Within six months, 50 per
cent POs should be behind the bars Mr Badal said
during a meeting with District Police Chiefs to
review their monthly performance here today He
also asked them to categorise POs as A, B and C
categories and focus should be on nabbing POs
charged with heinous crime.
Presiding over the meeting
attended by DGP P S Gill and top brass of the
police force, Mr Badal said as the Home Minister
he had tried to provide all facilities and
promotional channels to the Punjab Police
besides world class infrastructure support and
he would not accept any laxity by any District
Police Chief in maintaining law and order.
He said Punjab Police would
have to focus on prevention of petty crimes like
snatchings, thefts and burglaries besides
checking forcible illegal possession of
properties.
He said that any police
official/officer giving tacit support to any
party indulging in illegal possession of
property or found guilty of registering
concocted cases would be given severest possible
punishment.
