NEW DELHI: Delhi government
on Saturday issued an order to appoint 21 AAP
MLAs as parliamentary secretaries to the
ministers for its smooth functioning.
Parliamentary secretaries
were appointed by chief minister Arvind Kejriwal
and they will assume the charge after being
sworn-in by the chief minister once he returns
from Bengaluru where is undergoing medical
treatment.
However, AAP MLA and former
law minister Somnath Bharti has not been given
any responsibility by the government so far. His
name was also not among the 11 MLAs who were
recently appointed as chairman to district
development committees.
According to a government
official, parliamentary secretaries will not
receive any remuneration or any perks of any
kind from the government — meaning no burden on
exchequer.
They, however, may use
government transport for official purposes and
space in the minister's office would be provided
to them to facilitate their work.
"If a minister sends his PS
for work, he or she will be provided vehicle,
but these MLAs will not be given separate salary
or perks for this. These 21 MLAs, as
parliamentary secretaries, would only
voluntarily work with the ministers," deputy CM
Manish Sisodia said on Friday.

of development,
Rajesh Gupta to health
minister.
Anil Kumar Bajpai has been
parliamentary secretary to health minister
Som Dutt to industries
minister,
Avtar Singh Kalka to
minister of Gurudwara elections,
Vijender Garg Vijay to
minister of PWD,
Jarnail Singh to minister
of power,
Kailash Gahlot to minister
