CHANDIGARH: The Aam Aadmi
Party (AAP) has ruled out the possibility that
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal would be
projected as Chief Minister of Punjab in the
next 2017 assembly elections. Some home grown
leader would be given to serve the people of
state, said Sanjay Singh a senior leader of the
party.
Sanjay Singh who is holding
rallies across Punjab under AAP campaign 'Punjab
Jodo' in an interview with Manpreet Randhawa,
Principal correspondent of Hindustan Times said
that news regarding Arvind Kejriwal becoming CM
candidate are mere runours. He said that AAP has
gained strength in Punjab and a local leader
would occupy the post to meet the aspirations of
people of Punjab. He also rejected the
allegations by some 'suspended' leaders that
Kejriwal behaves like a dictator.
On the supension of two AAP
MPs Dharamvir Gandhi(Patiala) and Harinder Singh
Khalsa (Fatehgarh Sahib), the AAP leader said
that they both have inflated egos that made them
to criticise party leadership from public
plateforms. He said that a basic discipline is
required to run a party. Gandhi and Khalsa are
defeating the larger goal and they were busy in
other activities instead of making party
structure. He also bailed out Sangrur MP
Bhagwant Mann on the issue of leaked audio tape
in conversation with Dharamveer Gandhi. "Nothing
is offensive against party leadership", he
stated.
Sanjay Singh said that
Punjab Jodo campaign has given party an
opportunity to identify the real issues of
people. He said that party would raise the issue
of drug menace in a big way beside the sand
mafia, deteriorated law and order, corruption in
government offices and poor health services in
the state. He said that on visit to villages,
they came to know that drugs have ruined many
homes, youth is falling prey to drugs. He said
that now it was clear that both SAD and BJP
leaders are involved in the drug racket.
The AAP leader said that
AAP if comes to power would adopt zero tolerance
on corruption and drugs. He said that people
have tried both SAD and Congress and they ahve
failed to provide clean governments. He said AAP
is committed to provide clean and transparent
government.
Sanjay Singh said that he
was here to support the Punjab unit. He said
that large number of people from Punjab ahd came
to Delhi to support AAP in assembly elections
and same way they are here to fulfill their duty
for the party. Some suspended leaders had
alleged that Sanjay Singh is interfering in
working of state unit.
