According to party sources, there's only 3 people in the running for AAP Convener after Arvind Kejriwal steps out and throws out Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav on 28 March. This is a day after the 350-member AAP National Council meets. And throne it is - the Bhushan and Yadav's exit has shown that the party has no time for dissent. It has already announced intentions to go national, and 'Swaraj' has no time for these discussion.

So who is the man for the job?

There's 3 people - Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh and Kumar Vishwas in the running. Now let's try to take a guess.

Ashutosh isn't exactly the man for the job - he buckles under pressure, is often mocked for his statements, both on and off Twitter. He's too fresh, and we aren't sure what his work experience in the field of governance really is, and seems to be more of a good-intentioned cheerleader.

Kumar Vishwas is a good speaker - eloquent, convincing at times, even. But he has spoken a few times in praise of Modi. Not a good career move in the AAP.

Sanjay Singh is therefore the safe choice. He's been with Kejriwal much before the AAP was even an idea, and was on stage with Anna Hazare and Kejriwal when the two were friends during the Jantar Mantar rallies.

And he's already been stung - kind of

The AAP's most exciting promise to Delhi was 15 lakh CCTVs, which was pretty awesome (even if we pointed out how its kind of hard). And days after the AAP came to power, Sanjay Singh said on camera how this was not going to happen. It may seem as a compromise on a small promise, until you consider that the CCTVs had been pitched as a tool to fight Delhi's high incidences of rape.

The biggest expose against Kejriwal was the tape by former AAP MLA Rajesh Garg, and Garg has already stated that he has a tape revealing confidential, potentially stinging information against Singh. Garg has been true to his word the last time when it came time to reveal a sting.

The signs of Singh's rise are already there

It almost feels like a sting almost seems a trial by fire for AAP's leading men! But on a serious note, Sanjay Singh has been the party's media face on its pressing issues like the internal rifts, and simultaneously has maintained a dignified silence on accusations. He's also been the media face of the AAP newest ambitions - the plans to go national. For the time being, taking the heat is reserved to Ashutosh, ever since Shazia has made her exit). Since the party won't add anymore people in a hurry, the order of Kumar Vishwas as entertainer, Ashutosh as the party's equivalent of Sanjay Jha for Congress, and Sanjay Singh as leader will continue. And of course, Kejriwal being both the captain and the ship.
